The remodelling of a former post office on the water front of an historic Cornish fishing village. Set in a conservation area and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Rosalind Peninsula, the design rationale was to link the former office and shop with the residential unit above. The challenge was to take a building which had historically been designed to be looked into - a shop window - into one that should be looked out of - a residence - whilst retaining its original form and volume.  The framing of harbour and sea views to maximise the aspect without an over-reliance on glazing, was key to the design process.
