Office redesign for tech company Cloudsense based in Great Titchfield Street. The scheme included seating for 80 staff as well as board and meeting rooms, a kitchen and break-out spaces. The overarching brief was to design a scheme that would encourage positive social interaction within the workplace. To this end the main boardroom walls are able to concertina open on to the central office space to create in effect, stage and theatre for office-wide meetings and parties. Acoustics were also a significant consideration and we were challenged to create as open a space as possible without noise having a negative impact on the working environment.
The original linear layout of the office was turned at 45 degrees to mitigate the former tunnel effect where sound would travel the length of the office whilst the strategic positioning of bespoke screens and meeting pods along this access helped further to diffuse ambient noise. A modular desk system was also designed and manufactured to provide a flexible interior solution which would allow for further expansion or contraction within individual departments as appropriate.
